The officials of the Tristate Series held at Georgia Karting Komplex, Possum Kingdom Super
Speedway, and Riverside Speedway, are taking a step to give the Kart Racer another choice in
the competition classes of the Series. To give the Racer another choice of Engines, other than
Briggs, we have teamed up with Burris Racing and offering to try another Engine and class. The
Engine and class will be the F200 4 stroke Yamaha.
By trying this F200 experiment, maybe the racer
can now have a choice of engine brands to run. From our short time for research, it looks like this
engine will be suitable for all classes, from Plate Classes up through Limited.
But, first thing first. This is how we are planning on introducing the Yamaha F200 4 Stoke engine
in the Tristate Series. We have 10 identical prepared F200's that we will use as an introduction
class to the racers of the Tristate Series. These 10 engines are Stock F200's, not Plated for the Jr.
Classes at this time. However, at the Jr. Big Dog Event, we may Restrictor Plate them and give
the Jr. Racers a try. The class will be an exhibition class at the remaining Tristate Races to be run
in 2005. There will be no entry fee and a $500.00 purse will be paid at each event, $300.00 to the
winner, $125.00 for 2nd, and $75.00 for 3rd place finishers. The class will be the F200 Prostock,
360 lbs. weight. The motors will be given to the racer at the beginning of the event and will be
returned to us at the conclusion. All motors will be sealed and marked.
If you are interested in using one of these engines at Riverside on may 28th for this class, Please contact me at georgiakarting@alltel.net If more than 10 sign up to run, 10 names will be randomly drawn and the motors will be drawn for aswell.
Due to practice, etc., we suggest that if you plan to enter, please have extra kart or be willing
to work fast on changing engines, etc., the normal motor mount will work on the
F200. However, an onboard fuel tank is required.
After running some in 2005 and getting the racers thoughts and reviews, a decision will be made
by the Tristate Series about adding as a Class or Classes in competition in 2006.
More info on the May 28th Riverside Tri-State race can be found at www.tristatekarting.com. Dont forget all armbands from the rainout will be honored along with parking but you MUST call Steve Wright to confirm your parking. Hope to see you there!
